All About TeamBuildr
TeamBuildr is much more than a workout tracker. Let’s dive in to some areas of the app that you will find valuable.
Menu
Once you log in, at the top left of your screen, you will see an icon with three lines. Pressing on this will pull open the menu to the app. Here you can see things like journal entries, your current personal records for exercises and tests, helpful documents & links, your program library, and more. Journal entries are especially helpful because they add more detail to your training. Maybe you look back and see a day that you jumped much higher than usual. If you added a journal entry about what you did that day that you think helped lead to that result, you now have a record of things that might help you play better in tournaments.
Personal records can be valuable when filling out recruiting profiles, as well as to see your progress over time.
I continuously am updating the “Documents & Links” section of the menu. I try to put anything and everything helpful in there - from nutrition education to my favorite pieces of equipment that you can purchase for home to do at-home workouts. I highly recommend checking those links out.
The Program Library is a feature in the app that allows you to see the entire program at once, as well as quickly access the prescribed workout for that day.
Execution Score
One reason I like using TeamBuildr is because they experiment with cutting edge ideas. One way they do this is by connecting with wearables (Apple Watch, Fitbit, Whoop) to track your daily exertion. If you have a wearable and allow the connection, you will see an “Execution Score” block front and center on your dashboard as soon as you open the app.
This score could be used to assess your readiness for the day, and can allow you to plan your training accordingly. Understanding when to push and when to pull back in relation to when you play games can be one of the biggest separators between you and your competition. If you are able to recover better, while still training hard regularly, you are doing more than most others you play against.
Feed
At the bottom of your screen, you will see a navigation bar with multiple options. On the far left, there is the newspaper icon labeled “Feed”. This is where I will send helpful resources, interesting social posts, and other valuable items, as well as schedule updates. It is also a place for you to share things you find that might benefit the group. I want this to be a central location for the group to talk to / encourage one another.
Leaderboard
Here is where you can see how you stack up to others that train with me. Whether that be other people you play with / against at your age, or more experienced athletes that you look up to and aspire to be like. This is a simple way to drive some competition within the group.
Workout Calendar
Clicking on the barbell icon will take you to the workout listed for today. Simple and straightforward.
Messages
If you would like to send me a message, or maybe reach out to another person in the group, you can use the message button at the bottom of the screen.
